SCORPIAN IN AMBER

Trapped within a golden piece of ancient amber, this scorpion offers an extraordinary glimpse into an ecosystem that existed millions of years ago. Amber began as tree resin, which could entrap insects and other small organisms before gradually hardening and becoming preserved through geological time.

Unlike most fossils, amber can preserve remarkably fine details of an organism's external anatomy. The scorpion's body, legs, pincers, and tail remain enclosed within the translucent resin, creating an intimate record of life from a vanished prehistoric forest.
